IN THE MAKING
Fabric Focus: Linen and Ramie
Fabrics play a big role in our wardrobes, particularly when the seasons shift. We navigate fabric choices early on in our design process, keeping bast fibre materials top of mind for summer. As the weather gets warmer, we seek options that allows our skin to breathe and maintain a delicate balance between elegance and ease.
A piece made of linen (a natural and renewable fibre derived from the flax plant) breathes easily, adapts comfortably, and ages beautifully while moulding to your body much like a favorite pair of well-worn jeans. Ramie (a flowering plant in the nettle family) is also one of our top options, offering the breathable qualities of linen but with the added benefit of a lustrous finish, reminiscent of silk. Your ramie garment maintains its shape well and colours are not easily faded by the sun.

Whether you are channelling the crisp elegance of a matching set, the distinct style of a wide silhouette or the eclectic mood of layers, linen and ramie pieces are essential for your summer wardrobe. Both fabrics are featured in our collections, available in a range of styles. They are versatile enough for any occasion, wear them sharply pressed or embrace the fabrics natural tendency to wrinkle, adding texture and character to a look.
