UN Women’s “Women Artisans of Change”

In partnership with UN Women’s “Women Artisans of Change” programme

In 2024, we announced a new long-term partnership supporting UN Women’s "Women Artisans of Change” programme that brings together tradition, innovation, and old textile weaving techniques to support, and empower women artisans. In collaboration with students from the National Institute of Fashion Technology India, the women involved in the project learn hands-on skills of block-printing and weaving. Alsongside the craft, they gain knowledge on how to market and sell their work.

“This programme really connects to the heart of what we value - creativity and empowering women. It’s about keeping traditional techniques alive, while also giving these women the tools and confidence to bring their artistry into today’s world, whether that’s in local markets or on a global stage.”

Cecilia McNeil, Head of Sustainability at & Other Stories

During 2025, this programme will involve women from five different states in India.
