Patent version: The style looks great initially and feels very comfortable. I found that the elastic bands actually makes them very easy to take on and off, despite what others have said... However, patent leather shouldnt be forced to stretch as it is prone to unsightly creasing and irreparable cracking so this particular boot shape doesn't suit patent leather at all. I noticed buckling around the elastic as soon as I saw these in person. (This style would only work with regular uncoated leather - a serious design oversight here I think.)

I originally tried these on in store but decided against buying them but when I saw them on sale I couldn't resist. They are very comfortable, look good on - only gave them 4 stars as it's a bit of a struggle to get them off but I'm sure over time the elastic will loosen up a bit

The boots are great and very comfortable, although you do have to break them in once or twice you've worn them. The only drawback is i sometimes keep stepping on the lip of the other boot and feel clumsy. Maybe not use to big wide boots. Other than that I m really happy with them.
